#Gibson
Hey everyone and welcome to my blog, Gibson Girl.
My name is Jen and I am a 22 year old student, writer and style enthusiast. I am probably as British as they come, I drink English tea in cups and saucers all day long, say 'bloody brilliant' on a daily basis and LOVE the royals (especially Harry), but more of that later. I am in my final year of university at UEA, England where I study French with International Development. I have many homes, my real home is just outside of London, my university home is in Norwich, but for the last year I have been living just outside of Paris on my year abroad where I created and became editor in chief of my first ever magazine, The YA Handbook.
It has been my dream and ambition from a young age to become a magazine editor. ALL magazines fascinate me but my favourites are those that concentrate on fashion, home-ware and travel. I have been fortunate enough to have had a number of internships and experience in that sector but you can never have too much experience so this blog is really another place for me to write, share my magazine journey and blog about my thoughts on beauty, fashion and lifestyle, here in Paris or at home in London.
I named my blog 'Gibson Girl' after the beautiful Gibson Girl illustrations by Charles Dana Gibson that were even featured on Vogue in the Belle Epoque, they represented beauty, femininity, class, style and allure.
A Gibson Girl - 'The personification of the feminine ideal of beauty'It has been my dream and ambition from a young age to become a magazine editor. The aspect of the Gibson Girl image that inspires me in day to day life and that has motivated me to create this blog is style. The Gibson Girl style is timeless, classic and always elegant and reminds us that style is always constant.
'Fashion passes, style remains' Coco Chanel
My friends have often referred to me as a Gibson Girl, this may be partly due to the fact that my hair is constantly in an elaborate, high topknot but mostly because I believe that style and elegance are the only aspects of beauty that never fade and that no matter your size, age, looks etc you can always have elegance and style and you can always be beautiful.
So stay tuned for blog updates and thank you so much for taking the time to read my little old blog.
Love,
