A Festive High Tea

#Blogmas

On the seventh day of Christmas...

I had high tea at The Langham.

For those that don't know...

The Langham is a historic, luxury, five star hotel in the heart of London and as a true British girl, my absolute favourite place to have tea and scones.

The hotel is famous for its beautiful rooms, sensational spa, exquisite food and elegant parties frequenting countless celebrities, but to me the centrepiece of The Langham is The Palm Court.

'The dazzling Palm Court is famed as the place where the tradition of afternoon tea was born over 140 years ago.'

High Tea - I'm not sure how popular 'high tea' is in other countries but here it is huge.

A high tea is served at 4pm and consists of vast amounts of tea, scones, cakes, biscuits and sandwiches, usually served with a glass of champagne.

I am the biggest fan of high tea there is, I absolutely love it and The Langham is my favourite place to enjoy it.

At the Langham, there is pretty much a book full of different rare teas from far off lands that you get to sample before finally choosing the one that you want served to you in an elegant teapot, there is even a tea sommelier if you need one!

Then there is the choice of food, there are usually about five 'high tea menus' available at The Langham, each with a different theme: one of my favourites is 'The Wonderland Tea' where all of the sandwiches and cakes are inspired by the Lewis Caroll classic. The tea I usually opt for though is the 'Bijoux Tea.' Each season they choose a jewellery brand and design all the cakes to look like jewels and gems, it's amazing.

BUT seeing as its Christmas, I opted for the festive option, a...

Christmas High Tea

And my god was it amazing! Tea, champagne, macaroons, jellies, iced biscuits, the most delicious assortment of english tea sandwiches, cakes and so much more.
It is pricey but for a special occasion or a birthday treat, I recommend The Langham whole heartedly.
If you ever want to feel like a celebrity for the day or be treated like a princess, this is the place to go. I've been with family, friends and my boyfriend on different occasions and its perfect for a lovely relaxing cuppa with anyone :)
Remember to dress to impress though! Pretending to be a celebrity or a member of the royal family when you're there is half the fun of going!!

Have a see for yourself
