Home Furnishings
Just a few gorgeous home furnishings I picked up this week to decorate my bedroom.

Artificial flower power
For some reason loads of people look down on fake flowers and judge the people that buy them. I won't lie to you, I used to be one of them. Some people consider fake flowers a cop out and they think that it's almost lazy to choose fake flowers over real flowers. If you asked me a month ago I'd probably agree with you but I've recently been working for All About Eve, a wonderful homeware company that sells artificial flowers among many other gorgeous home furnishings...so I bought an artificial hydrangea...and then another one...and then another four...and then pretty much every other artificial flower they stock.
Artificial flowers are fantastic, they always look perfect, there are no dud petals or buds, no mess to clear up, no mouldy flower smell if you forget to change the water, in fact no water needed at all. Most importantly you only have to buy them once, need I say more...
I'm not telling you all to buy an artificial forest like I have through my MANY impulse purchases, I'm simply saying don't knock them till you've tried them.

Would you care to sit with me for a cup of English tea?
Vintage tea sets are BACK everyone. I don't know why floral milk jugs and china cups and saucers ever went out of fashion to be honest with you but all that matters is that they're back to stay.
The rumours that it's just old women and royals that still drink tea in beautiful china needs to leave. I have recently invested in some vintage tea sets and I love them more than life itself. It is true that you don't get as much tea as you do in your Emma Bridgewater pint sized pottery flagon but even a tea lover like myself can sacrifice a bit of caffeine to look and feel that bit more elegant, feminine and British.

In with the old...
For those of you that aren't aquatinted with these beauties, Roberts are a stylish British radio brand that have been selling in the UK for over 80 years... The models of Roberts Radio have changed over the decades but their most famous and classic creation is my personal favourite, the DAB Roberts Revival Digital Radio.
For those of you that don't already know, I am a huge lover of vintage and retro fashion and accessories. In an age where technology is ever changing and fundamental to our lives, I find it quite comforting and cool to revert back to the old ways: old school radios, record players, film cameras, hand written letters, old school cars etc.
As my birthday is coming up, I've added a Robert's Radio to the top of my wish list.
Classic, classy, chic and cool, these radios will give any room a cool retro yet classy feel.
My person favourite:
The Revival DAB Roberts Radio
In Leaf colour
£160
But there is a huge array of colours to choose from
A wonderful combination of retro and class - these radios are a perfect example of timeless style.
If the plain pastel shades are too simple for your liking, Roberts have launched a new Cath Kidston floral range.
Ooh la la...
Trust me when I say that Robert is a classy investment.

Home furnishings
As I've written in a previous post, I am moving into a new house soon so I have been looking a lot into interior design and have been buying a huge amount of Elle decor and Ideal Home magazines to inspire me! I've also been noticing all the furnishings and decorations that I have now that I will have to take with me. Here are a few of my favourite home furnishings in my little old house to provide you all with a bit of home-spiration maybe...
Everyone has a different style, interior design wise, mine is classic, pretty and elegant.
Cream wicker heart
Very girly and flowery I know but I hope it inspires you all in some way or another! I'd love to know the pieces that you love in your room!

Cookie Cushions... Good enough to eat.
As my year in Paris is coming to an end, I am beginning to look forward to moving back to good old England in a month or so and moving into my new house with some gorgeous girlfriends. In my opinion the best thing about moving into a new house, (aside from popping the Prosecco open on housewarming) is the decorating and the endless dream lists of beautiful home furnishings that I want to buy.
It was through the endless online furniture browsing with many a glass of Sauvignon that I stumbled across my new favourite thing.
Biscuit Cushions designed by Nikki McWilliams
Nikki McWilliams is a 28 year old designer and creator of Scottish based company,
Nikki McWilliams Ltd.
I was sold on her products before I'd even seen them, just through reading this sentence...
'Nikki's designs are inspired by a love of British culture, contemporary Pop-Art and her fascination with the ritual of the Tea Break.'
As a true British girl, that sounded pretty bloody perfect to me, any decoration involving my favourite hobby (drinking tea and eating biscuits) is exactly my cup of tea! (Get it?!)
Nikki has a huge selection of produce on her site, everything from accessories, jewellery and wrapping paper (god the wrapping paper is gorgeous!) to prints, iphone cases and the classic cushions. The best part of her work is the theme, English biscuits. Imagine any biscuit-y treat you loved to eat when you were younger...Party Rings, Bourbons, Custard Creams, Tunnock's, Malted Milk's...
You name it, she's made a cushion out of it.
My favourites and the new additions to my 'to buy' list are a selection of cushions inspired by my favourite English biscuits! They would just look so gorgeous and colourful (on a sofa, a chair, a bed, anything!) and would brighten up any room giving it a quaint, British vibe.
Excellent attention to detail. Fantastic quality. 100% recommended.
Whether you're British or you want to be (because let's face it, who doesn't), an english biscuit cushion should be a staple home furnishing. My favourites are the custard cream cushions (see above), I am planning on getting four or so of them so make my sofa look homey and then for my bedroom...pretty much everything else on the site. So here is a list of the Nikki McWilliams haul that is going to make my house a home next year!
I hope this inspires you all!

Check out her wonderful creations now or have a hungry sofa forever.
