It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

#Blogmas

On the first day of Christmas...

It's time to start feeling festive because...
Winter is my favourite season and Christmas is my favourite holiday of the entire year. I don't know what it is about the season, whether it's the cold weather or everyone's excitement about the upcoming festivities but everyone comes together at Christmas.

Some of my favourite aspects of Christmas are log fires, yule log, presents, carols, laughter, mince pies, festive jumpers, cinnamon sticks, pine needles, shopping, gingerbread, mulled wine, old films and so much more.

Having said this, one of my favourite memories was from two years ago at university when 12 of my best friends and I had run out of money before the holidays and we couldn't afford to buy lots of treats, we didn't even have a TV to watch a Christmas film on. So we all huddled in one of the houses, put on warm woolly jumpers, made Christmas signs on the backs of our old lecture notes and chipped in all the money we had left before we returned to our many different homes the next day on a turkey and some vegetables with a weird assortment of puddings. We then played a variety of board games (all with several parts missing - Jenga without Jenga blocks, Monopoly without money and Twister without a mat) before deciding on Christmas themed Charades for the rest of the night.

It wasn't a luxurious evening as most of my Advent evenings are, but it was by far my favourite because for me it really summed up the whole spirit of Christmas, just appreciating each other and having a fantastic, hilarious time despite any problems, worries or struggles you might face.
It's the most festive I've ever felt.

Here's to the start of Blogmas, I will be blogging everyday of Advent leading up to Christmas.
Eeeeek wish me luck!
Enjoy
