Supper at Andaz

A delicious three course meal, endless supplies of extravagant cocktails, beautiful rooms and fantastic company. Andaz did pretty damn well in my book.
THEN we headed to Cafe de Paris, a lovely club in London and got so lost in London we ended up getting a Rickshaw around Picadilly until we bumped into people we knew...

Binging on Burberry.

#Fashion

At the moment in London (my hometown), fashion week is upon us, that wonderful week full of countless celebrities and well respected fashionistas dressed head to toe in timeless trends sitting, sketching and smiling (pouting) at the invasion of stunning models taking to the runway in the biggest brands around.

This one week shapes the rest of the fashion season, in terms of what the big brands will be designing, what the high street shops will be selling, what the fashion and style bloggers will be admiring and therefore what all of us will be wearing.

Today I sat in Paris at work watching my twitter feed buzz with the most beautiful and inspirational images of the Burberry catwalk that took place this afternoon at Perks Fields, Kensington Gardens. I have never been so sad to be in Paris, watching Burberry nail the first day of LFW 2014.

The first Monday of fashion week is traditionally reserved for some of the major designer brands; Christopher Kane, Roksanda llincic and Erdem to name a few. The most buzz however, was circulating around the ever popular, ever classy British brand, Burberry.

Burberry always erects it runway in a custom built tent in Hyde Park during fashion week and tickets to get into this grotto of the best trends around are the most sought after around - it probably would be easier to get an invitation to the Royal Wedding.

The Burberry show was not only an iconic one but also an emotional and reflective one as it was the last show from the creative director Christopher Bailey and the Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts.

The models (fronted by the utterly gorgeous Cara Delevigne) strutted the runway in the A/W14  trends, swirly water colours, bohemian ponchos, painted scarf dresses, painted leather handbags and ofcourse the classic Burberry trenches but this time with handpainted florals.

Inspired by the Boho Bloomsbury set of 1920s London, the runway was like a romantic arcadia with a beautiful yet soft colour palette and beautiful sheer painted fabrics combined with winter furs and sheepskins… bliss.

 My style icons in attendance:

Felicity Jones

 Anna Wintour

 Cara Delevingne

My mouth is literally watering at the BEAUTIFUL clothes that I have just witnessed and partly at my Cara Delevigne eyebrow envy!

I might have to do a cheeky bit of retail therapy to recover...

Valentine's Day ♥

                                                                                                       #Gibson

'Friends are like a good bra...supportive, hard to find and ALWAYS close to your heart.'

Valentine's Days are always a tricky decision:
Go out with a guy or spend the night in with the girls?
Personally, the 'chicks before dicks' concept is one that I have always supported. Relationships will come and go but good friends are in it for the long haul, so get behind your girlies because when you need them, they'll be there.

The night before Valentine's Day, my best friend spent hours cooking me a beetroot and goats cheese risotto in the shape of a heart just incase my boyfriend (who is not a fan of the Valentine's hype) didn't spoil me!

MAJOR FRIEND POINTS.

In fact my gorgeous boyfriend flew out to France to visit me in Paris, brought me red roses and whisked me off for a romantic three course meal ending with a delicious shared pudding of hot chocolate and warm churros.

It was the PERFECT Valentine’s Day despite the fact that I had to limp home due to the huge amount of food that I had eaten!!!

Throughout my 22 Valentine's Days, this one was by far my favourite, not simply due to a wonderful day with the boy I love, although that was amazing, my night was made so much better knowing that my best girly had my back and that if anything went wrong she would take me home and feed me leftover risotto and LOTS of galaxy.

So hold your guys close this Valentine's but hold your girlies closer because let's face it...
Girl power is the greatest.

BB Cream - what a BABE.

BB cream is the latest beauty fad, originating in the Asian market it exploded into the global beauty world and now is a must have product in every beauty blogger's make up bag.

BB cream stands for Blemish Balm and is a multi-function product that combines pretty much all facial products into one.

BB cream is a moisturiser, a concealer, a primer, a hydrator and it contains SPF with healing properties that sooth and anti-age the skin.

My personal favourites include:

Bobbi Brown BB cream £29.99
L'OREAL BB cream £9.99
Rimmel BB cream 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting super makeup £6.99
MAC prep + prime BB beauty balm SPF35 £21

BB cream is PERFECT for my skin as I am blessed with a really clear complexion (with the exception of a certain few days each month)! I wear foundation on nights out but when my skin is great, I find it too heavy for my skin and it looks like I'm wearing too much make up when I really don't need to, so BB cream is ideal for day time make up just evening out my complexion and covering minor imperfections and redness. However for those of you that do suffer from bad skin and that are insecure about having spots on show I do recommend using a concealer with your BB cream or using it simply as a multi-functioning primer to go under foundation.

Magazine mood-board

Mood-boards are not only a beautiful decoration to a room but they are also incredibly inspiring and helpful in organising the life of a blogger.
As a blogger, writer and editor, a mood-board completes my room and gives it a bit of colour and life. After coming to an end of the compilation stage of 'The Year Abroad Handbook', I am going to make a new mood-board for my new home.
You'll have to wait a few months until I've moved in to see it but, spoiler alert, it will be chic as hell.
