Birthday Bunny

I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22...

Today I turned 22 and it only seemed fitting to post a picture of 2 year old me as a birthday bunny a shocking 20 years ago!!!

I had wonderful celebrations filled with lovely friends and family spoiling me rotten, lots of presents, lots of cake (obviously!) and lots of love. I feel so so lucky to have such incredible people around me and who have been around me for my entire 22 years on this planet!

So thank you to everyone who made is so special and thank you to all of you for reading and for following my life wherever you are.
It's the best birthday present I could ask for...
except for a pair of Louboutins...that'd be wonderful.

Polkadots in Paris

I have found that Polkadots aren't that popular in France but I absolutely love them. I hopped on the train to Paris last weekend for a few nights of clubbing in Pigalle with friends and thought that my old-school polkadot culottes would suit the event perfectly.
So I thought that I would share my outfit with you all.
(This is a picture of me when I accidentally locked myself and a friend into an old french toilet without a door handle....
Oooh la la................

Top knot-ch

I have always worn my hair in a ginormous topknot, so the fact that it is now in fashion makes it so much more acceptable. My hair is voluminous, thick and curly. People often tell me that they would kill for my hair but personally, I have always wanted thin, straight locks (Ahhh it sounds SO manageable and easy)!

I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to top-knots, it's my go to hairstyle so I just bung it up in a big ball on my head, the higher and bigger, the better.

Inspired by Audrey

#Fashion

Have a Holly Golightly Birthday Audrey...

"My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses."
                                    Audrey Hepburn
(Style icon, inspiration and the chicest girl around.)

My wonderful boyfriend gave me the best surprise recently, he bought me an Audrey Hepburn style yellow coat, just like the one she wore in Charade.
Caramel Sharbury wool coat by Joules
(It says caramel but it's a lot more like mustard, I feel like a giant tub of Colman's when I wear it out...)

I have been wearing my beautiful new coat pretty much every day and have had endless compliments, a few of my friends have even started calling me 'Audrey' which naturally makes me the happiest person EVER.

I love this coat so much, not only because it was picked out for me by someone I love but because it is something I would NEVER have picked out for myself. Yellow is so bold and bright and the thought of buying a statement coat in that shade would have terrified me!
Strangely, this coat really helped me see that sometimes it's really important to step outside of your fashion comfort zone. Seeing as my style is a little more conservative and classic than others, I team it with neutral colours to make it look a little more conservative.

Yellow is all the range this fashion season and I encourage all of you to buy a statement piece of yellow clothing; lemon, mustard, caramel...no matter which shade!
It can make any outfit and if you wear it right and with the right things you will shine (literally) and everyone will be envious of your courage, creativity and class.

Cruising around Croatia

                                                                                                                                           #Travel

When life gets a bit too much, it's time to hit the Mediterranean.

When living and working in a foreign country, life can get a bit too much so sometimes it's nice to just have a relaxing week off and sunbathe on the beach with friends. Having just finished my exams in Paris, my friends and I thought nothing sounded better than a week in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

I have travelled all over the world, seen amazing things, eaten rare foods and met people from all over, yet for me, nowhere can compare to the mediterranean.
The beaches are beautifully white and sandy, the sea is crystal blue, the food is too good to be true, the shopping is wonderful, the boy scouting is full of talent and the tanning...I have never got a better tan from anywhere else.

SO we had a wonderful week in Croatia, a week of eating squid ink risotto (don't knock it till you've tried it!), a huge selection of fruits de mer, more gelattos than I can count and for some reason this holiday I really got into banana splits...

Another mediterranean specialty is the Croatian shopping, in particular for jewellery.
There goes my pay cheques...
Croatia is renowned for its silver, coral and turquoise, so the jewellery shops are legendary. I went a bit overboard on the jewellery buying.... but left enough money to afford my daily banana split fix of course.

I spent most of my evenings at Lady PiPi: the best Dubrovnik restaurant ever, in the back streets of the town centre, so popular that it usually has an hour long queue outside and a statue of Lady PiPi 'peeing' to keep you entertained as you wait. Once in, you are supplied with countless cocktails and watch your Croatian cuisine cooked for you al fresco in a beautiful setting.

And one of the best thing about Croatia aside from the beautiful views is the fact that wherever you are, there will always be a kitten that wants to eat your leftover banana split, gelatto, risotto, bread etc.
