Champagne at the Lido

I recently went for a champagne meal and late night swim at The Lido in Bristol.
It was my first trip to Bristol and after a three hour boat trip down the river Avon with friends and before the Balloon fiesta, we thought we'd nip in the Lido for a bit of luxury.

The Lido in Clifton, Bristol is a wonderful restaurant and spa, you're given a fluffy dressing gown and fuzzy slippers to stroll around the outdoor heated pool in late at night, and that's exactly what we did.
We then went upstairs to the balcony overlooking the gorgeous water and sipped on bubbly.

The restaurant is beautiful and filled with wood burning stoves where they wood roast for you anything from scallops to steak, cuttlefish to veal, chicken to squid.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the Lido I had a wonderful meal and a gorgeous day.

Chalk Board Obsession

Yes it's anotheeer chalk board blog post....Sorry team!
I don't know why I have developed this sudden obsession with chalk boards...but I have...call it an early twenties crisis maybe?

I have seen a few of these around recently: chalkboard trays or food boards. They're fantastic because as you can see, you can label the foods! I am on the hunt for one of these to use as a cheese board, it would be fantastic. Or if you had guests with a variety of dietary requirements you can label what is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc! The list is endless!

You can get chalk boards everywhere at the moment and they are so cheap!
SO invest in some chalkboards and chalk pens because they are SO versatile! One of my favourite things to do is making lists (god that's lame), so primarily I use chalk boards for that but I really love the artisan feel of these food chalk board trays!

Free hugs in email form

If this year in France away from my loved ones has taught me anything, it's that everyone needs somebody to lean on sometimes, that and the fact that love, advice and strength always come from where you least expect.

During my year abroad I have had such incredible highs but like every adventure, I've had lows too, lows where sometimes all you need is to get something off your chest, to be told that everything is going to be ok and to move on stronger. Friends and family are great to confide in and give wonderful advice, but for me, some of the best advice I've been given have been from people outside the given situation but people who can listen and help as best they can.

I'm no psychiatrist but I have always been someone that people come to for reassurance, advice and support. (I often joke that I'm so wise, I should have a beard and be carrying frankincense)!

If any of you ever want to get anything off your chest or need someone to confide in, I'm here. I love receiving emails from you all and I know first hand how much someone else's advice can mean. Whether you're struggling with a break up, having problems with friends or just need advice from someone who's been there...I'm only an email away.

Chalkboard Chic

The Chalkboard at Forest London Design Shop
Chalkboards are trending at the moment and are a wonderful addition to a house or to a bedroom. They can be used to write shopping lists, messages, draw pictures, write notes...anything!

I LOVE the idea of the chalkboard at Forest London Design Shop, I'm thinking of installing one into my kitchen so I can write recipes on it or in my room so I can display my make up collection or book collection and rate them in chalk...

'Paris is always a good idea'

Living in the Loire Valley this year, its so easy to hop on a quick train to Paris to sample some macarons, walk the Champs Elysees with many Zara bags in my hands and to have picnics under the sparkly Eiffel Tower at night.

No. 42

Since working for the designer home brand 'All About Eve', I have fallen head over heels with their bespoke candle range and have been burning them constantly in my house.
I think they are my favourite candles ever and have definitely overtaken the yankee candle in my affections.

My favourite: No. 42
It smells like a mixture between Chanel and Burberry
